From my 2026 solo show "The Winter of our Discontent," in which I paired my paintings of the Log Lady from the David Lynch show 'Twin Peaks' with a sound element - voicemails from 50+ American women and people AFAB, giving their opinion of JD Vance's infamous "childless cat ladies" statements.
In the backdrop of these Log Lady pieces I included a gamut of symbolism, including witchery, Woody Guthrie's phrase "This machine kills fascists,” suffragism, Ruth Bader Ginsberg's iconic collars, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

“Thrives in harsh conditions (The Blue Globe Thistle)” (2025)Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933-2020) was the second woman, and the first Jewish woman, to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court (from 1993 until her death).
She once stated, “I pray that I may be all that [my mother] would have been, had she lived in an age when women could aspire and achieve, and daughters are cherished as much as sons.”
The blue globe thistle's (Echinops sphaerocephalus) hard, spiky form represents strength, resilience, and endurance. Because it thrives in harsh conditions, it is often associated with people who display these traits in the face of adversity.
