From my 2026 solo show "The Winter of our Discontent," in which I paired my paintings of the Log Lady from the David Lynch show 'Twin Peaks' with a sound element - voicemails from 50+ American women and people AFAB, giving their opinion of JD Vance's infamous "childless cat ladies" statements.

In the backdrop of these Log Lady pieces I included a gamut of symbolism, including witchery, Woody Guthrie's phrase "This machine kills fascists,” suffragism, Ruth Bader Ginsberg's iconic collars, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Size: 8.5" x 11" // 21.5cm x 28cm

* For my 4 largest paintings in this Log Lady series I am also offering a Limited Edition print, matted to 16" x 20". “Give me your tired (The Log Lady Liberty)” (2026)
For months in 2025 and 2026, ICE cracked down on immigration in Minnesota by killing, beating, terrorizing, and kidnapping multiple American citizens, in broad daylight captured on video. Minnesotans responded by braving the below-freezing cold to show up for protests, as well as deliver groceries, raise rent money, and take each other’s kids to school, so immigrants could remain safely in their homes.

At the U.S./Mexico border, in the past years, the Trump administration has replaced existing barriers that were less than 20’ tall with 30’ steel bollards. So now hundreds of migrants have ended up needing extensive treatment in U.S. hospitals after trying to scale the wall and falling. Masih Fouladi, executive director of the California Immigrant Policy Center, stated that the rise in injuries is "the inevitable outcome" of an immigration policy designed with "an inhumane approach."

On the Mexican side, citizens have decorated the border wall with murals expressing every emption from joy to sorrow, including sections naming US military veterans who have been deported to Mexico. Artists have described their murals as a protest against “this violent act of separation.”
