A custom artwork of a home or small apartment building. You'll receive an original painting (pen & ink lines with ink washes) on watercolor paper, finished off with a white mat so it's ready to pop into a frame.

A house portrait makes a lovely gift for a big occasion like a new home or an anniversary. It's also a great way to honor a previous, beloved home.

Size options:
5x7" art matted to 8x10"

8x10" art matted to 11x14"

11x14" art matted to 16x20"

----
Here's the process:

1. You send me at least one photo of the home - it's best if you have a few, so I can see details and also choose the nicest foliage. We'll work out how you'd like the image to be cropped (where the edges of the painting will be) and whether you'd like me to include a small amount of handwriting toward the bottom of the painting, ex. your family's name or the home's address

2. I'll draw a pencil sketch for you, and you send me back one round of any minor edits/requests you might have.

3. Once we've worked out the pencil sketch, I'll start the finished painting.

4. When I've finished your painting I'll email you an image, just to make sure you're happy with everything, before I mail your actual art. For example: at this stage I could add a few more washes of color to the background, but I can't change the layout of the painting.

----

Optional other items I can make once I've painted your house portrait: blank notecards, or giclée (archival) art prints in a variety of sizes - this way the whole family can enjoy it. Just email me for the details on this!

  • TIMELINE & FRAMING

My standard turnaround time is 14 business days - please let me know if you have a different deadline. Paying a rush fee for a shorter timeline might be possible.

    Framing:
All three of my size options will fit a standard sized frame from an art supply store like Michael’s or Blick. You'll need a frame that is the same size as the mat. For example, if you choose 5x7" art matted to 8x10" -- then you'll need an 8x10" frame.
