🌺 “The thing that every stranger in Savannah goes to see, as a matter of course, is Bonaventure.”

— Harriet Beecher Stowe

This is the tomb of Thomas & Eliza Theus, one of the most photographed monuments in Bonaventure Cemetery. Early spring is the height of Savannah’s azalea season, and the cemetery really is an explosion of this bright pink.

I included some handwriting within this piece, including the factoid that Thomas Theus died in a particular home on Forsyth Park, and the beautiful quote above by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
